Creative D is the studio of Sheffield based graphic designer Danny Dawson. My aim is simple – to provide creative, cleanly designed websites and visually stunning print design.

WHAT IS WCAG?

These guidelines are produced by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C), an organisation that writes web standards for HTML, CSS and other languages used on websites. Most countries outside of the United States do not have their own standards and rely on WCAG.

WCAG is made up of 14 guidelines and each guideline contains one or more check points. Each check point has a priorty assigned to them of 1, 2 or 3. The priorty levels give an idea of which ones will result in the greatest amount of accessibility for the greatest number of people.

I have created 2 skip links – About and Contact.

Skip links are internal page links which quickly aid navigation around the current page. They are mainly used by screen reader users for bypassing or 'skipping' over repetitive web page content.

Pressing the Tab key will make first link appear at top left. You can press Tab repeatedly to get to the chosen link.

Once your chosen link is selected, press Enter key on your keyboard. You can move backwards through links by pressing Shift + Tab together.

For MAC 10.5 Safari, depending on your system preferences, you may have to hold down Alt/Option key + Tab key.

CHANGING TEXT SIZE

The size of the text shown on the site has been picked to be the most readable and appealing for the majority of our users. Some of you however will wish to enlarge (or decrease) the text to their own chosen size. Most web browsers will have a menu at the top of the screen entitled 'View', where there will usually be an option titled 'Text zoom', 'Text size', 'Make text bigger', etc. This should give you control over the text size on the page.

I will use the information that I collect about you lawfully, in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998. I do not sell your details to advertising companies.

INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY RIGHTS

CREATIVE-D will transfer ownership of the website design to the client when full payment has been made. Until such time all website design, optimised web images, optimised flash/video files, passwords and access codes will remain the property of CREATIVE-D.

I retain the right to use any HTML and CSS code, PHP code, database coding and Javascript on other clients projects. Any original artwork or digital files produced by CREATIVE-D, including but not limited to, drawings, diagrams, digital photographs, video files, images manipulated on behalf of CREATIVE-D clients, remain the property of CREATIVE-D unless bought by the client.

CREATIVE-D takes no responsibility, what so ever, for any website content, images or text provided by the client that subsequently has existing copyright associated with it that may cause grievance with the original owner.

CONTENT

Any content deemed to appear pornographic or that would cause extreme offence and anything considered illegal, I would refuse to continue with the project.

CREATIVE-D takes no responsibility for errors that have occurred as a direct result of changes made to your site by you or a third party. CREATIVE-D will also not be liable for any legal issues, any disputes that may arise from the content at any time. If you or a third party places links on your website to illicit, third party websites, CREATIVE-D will not take any responsibility what so ever.

CREATIVE-D will ask your permission to include a text link to my site from your homepage, reading, 'Sheffield Web Designers', and also to be able to display or exhibit final designs of your website to other potential clients.

ESTIMATES

Prices are correct as at 03/02/10 and are subject to change without notice.

All prices quoted in any proposal are valid for 28 days from the date of proposal.

PAYMENTS

Invoicing for goods material and services is to be made in accordance with an agreed schedule. Where no such agreement exists then the issuing of invoices shall be at my discretion.

If you the client require extra options during a project, CREATIVE-D reserve the right to charge additional fees.

CREATIVE-D will add a 10% contingency fee to cover any further changes or development work. Any additional amendments made to designs, which are not included on the original hard copy or discs will be charged for at my current artwork rate. CREATIVE-D will advise the client when they trip over into these charges.

Web Design services require 25% up front, 50% when the site goes live and the balance at the end of the project.

Website hosting fees and any costs incurred by CREATIVE-D on behalf of the client are payable in advance and are non-refundable.

If accounts are not settled or CREATIVE-D have not been contacted regarding the delay, access to the related website may be denied.

Fees relating to web hosting or domain names must be paid prior to the expiration date of the said service.

Design for Print services require 25% up front. Full cost of printing is required before artwork is submitted to press. Outstanding design fees must be paid within 30 days.

If any sum payable to CREATIVE-D is in arrears for more than 30 days after the due date, then CREATIVE-D reserves the right to charge interest on such overdue sum on a day to day basis at a rate of 3% above Abbey's base lending rate in force from time to time.

CANCELLATION

CREATIVE-D consider the project to be active after receiving written confirmation from you, either by e-mail or post, to start initial design proofs.

To cancel a project the client must contact me immediately.

Any work completed or expenses incurred at this point must be paid for by the client. A full invoice will be sent detailing these costs.

WEB HOSTING

CREATIVE-D act as your agent to find UK hosting suppliers and setup hosting accounts.

Once these accounts have been setup and your web package has been paid in full, CREATIVE-D agree to send clients all hosting account details, such as login names and passwords.

CREATIVE-D cannot be held responsible for any virus that may be passed onto any computer from the web server or by e-mail.

CREATIVE-D cannot guarantee web server security and cannot be held responsible for any loss or misuse by third parties of any data that is captured and / or stored on the web server, even using SLL encryption.

CREATIVE-D cannot be held responsible for any down time of the web server, or other equipment connected to the Internet which causes the clients website to be off-line for any reasonable amount of time, or causes loss of revenue on an E-commerce enabled website. These issues are the responsibility of the hosting companies.

Domain names are subject to availability.

CREATIVE-D will not be held responsible for any problems arising from the clients own e-mail account and Internet service provider and cannot be held responsible for any software or hardware problems on the client's equipment.

SEO

CREATIVE-D cannot guarantee inclusion or a particular ranking with any search engine.

Reciprocal Link Building

According to Google, the higher number of incoming links you have will increase traffic to your site. Link popularity is used by Google to determine search engine ranking. If you have a quality website that is appropriate for inclusion in my links directory I would be interested in exchanging links with you.
